a funny or maybe not so funny story...
Last night, I woke up around 2:30... Couldn't fall back to sleep, so I took the dog out to pee. I know I unlocked the door, but can't say 100% sure that I locked the door coming back in. I was almost asleep, with the dog laying by my bed, ( it was between 3:30 and 4:00 am when I thought I heard the backdoor open and someone run down the stairs. My dog will investigate when there is a vehicle in yard, or someone knocks at the door, but my friends know just to walk in without knocking. I tried to get out of the bed, but I was at the stage where your body is in a state of paralysis. Tried moving my feet, no go, tried to talk, no go there either. I decided that it must have been my imagination. Off to dream land I went.
This is where the story gets funny or not so funny. I was coming home from my walk, when my elderly neighbour pokes her head out the window, and asks if I heard the commotion last night? Nope, I said. She proceeded to tel me that the police arrested someone outside my house last night at around 3:50... I didn't hear a thing. So now, I'm wondering, did someone really come into the house last night, or did my subconscious hear the commotion and make me think that someone had come in? PS, the door was locked when I got up, but the door can be opened from the inside while its locked....
I'll never know for sure, but from now on... no more midnight ventures outside for me...
