LG and Renovations
LG stands for the lovely gentleman I started dating in Sept of 2015... Yes, we are still together and going strong. He is been a true gift to my life. I called him LG here, and it stuck...
AS far as renovations, I'm moving into the 21st century as far as my kitchen/dining area goes. We are putting a new IKEA kitchen in, along with new flooring and new appliances. I've always had second hand appliances ( I'm still using the same stove my brother gave me when I bought the house in 2004, and I'm using my second fridge ( bought is 2020 I paid 200 for that one) and the fridge I bought when I bought my house , I paid 500.00 for second hand.) I'm excited that I will have a dishwasher, a propane topped stove, With an elecrtic dual oven, and a 4 door fridge. Every thing is being paid for with cash. The applaince and the complete cabinetry are about the same price. We had a beam installed in the attic, so that we could safely remove a wall, and we filled in the old opening to the diningroom. I've flipped the old diningroom and kitchen areas. It's made a huge difference in the house. No more 3 doorways at the top of the stairs, it's all opened up.
Since 2009, I've slowly renovating the house. The outside is completed, new windows and siding in 2009, the bathroom gutted in 2010, and I added a new closet to the master bedroom at that time. new hardwood floors in 2011, a heat pump installed in 2012, I even had the water and sewage line replaced last year, when I had the old cement step, that had a cold room under it, removed, foundation repaired, and backfilled. We took out the front enterance closet and another closet in the biggest bedroom in the front of the house, made the wall flush, insulated it, and rebuilt the closet. At the same time, we added a closet to the second bedroom in 2023. The The basement will be the next project...
