Getting organized...

I'm slowly working on getting my life "together" in a way that combines my thoughts and beliefs into concrete actions. ( In some ways it takes me a very long time to "get" things). I know what I have to do, but I am constantly putting up my own roads blocks.

I know right now that I can no longer afford to keep my SUV( I can actually afford to keep it, but I'll be having NO room for anything but the bills and a few other things, I'd like to be able to buy a new pair of sneakers once a year or join some fitness classes). It was fine when I was making 700.00 net a month more, but now, with the reduction in income, it's not practical. This week along, I burned 1/3 tank of gas and traveled about 100 kms....

I'm currently test driving a 2013 honda civic, but the dealer has two 2010 civics, both looks in great shape and I could have the vehicle paid for in three years paying less than I am right now, plus cheaper fuel costs... I need to have some more definite numbers before I make a decision.  I have to say that it's really hard going from an SUV to a compact car... I almost fell out of the car trying to get out of it. LOL

I've gotten rid of a ton of papers, and I'm working on some other things in the house.  I've spent 153.00 on groceries so far this month...

My goal for February is to have the basement cleaned out and the floors prepped for painting in the spring.  I'd like to stick to the 200.00 grocery goal again for February...

Oh and I need to order a new night guard, as the dog chewed mine... It's my fault, as I didn't put it back in it's case and it must have fallen off the sink...

I must finish up a few things, walk the dog and have a nap before work!

Ugh! Is this SUV fairly new? Or am i mixing you up with someone else? My friend next door just bought one and it eats through a lot of gas as well... :( I hope you're able to get your finances sorted out!

Carla, its an 09 with a v6 engine, it was great when I was working out of town, but just running it in town, its a gas guzzler! 19.5 litre/100 kms this week...

Sending you good thoughts and energy as you work on getting things together. Sometimes life seems to whirl about and force too many decisions and tasks at once. I'd have a tough time going from my SUV to a car too. I hate feeling 'low' on the road.

Gas mileage is definitely a huge factor in owning a vehicle. I would really consider the 2010 model. I bought a new car last time and I don't think I would do it again. Good luck!!

Gas is definitely a money waster, but you can buy a lot of gas for a car payment so figure carefully. Great on the paper clear out, doesn't that feel good.
