It was a great few days.

The past two days were great, low key and relaxed! Christmas eve was spent visiting with family and friends, having a old friend drop by and staying for 2 hour visit. We all had a few glasses of red wine and some mulled cider, along with meat pie and other finger foods. Christmas morning I woke up at 4:30 and made a pot of coffee, and sat by the tree watching the fire and dog curled up beside me. DD work up to go the bathroom before 7:00, and she decided to stay up and unwrap her presents. She was happy with her gifts, the favorite I think was a toss up between the electric mattress pad and her new Kobo touch ( from my sister).

We went to watch my nephew open some of his gifts, and he was too funny! I bought him a bag of guumy tarantulas to stash in his gift and he enjoyed them, as he tried to scare his mother with them. My family got me good, by buying me a Keurig and keeping it at my sisters for me to open. I was very surprised and thankful for such a lovely gift. I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm sure I will at some point today.

DD bought me the first 4 books in the Game of Thrones series, so I'll be doing some serious reading over the holidays.

Brunch and supper were yummy, and Dd finished off the night by going to visit with her other grandmother. We laughed, listened to some great stories about DD's fathers family. I even had a chance to talk to DD's uncle for a couple of minutes and hope to have a visit with him later on this year.
