Random things...

Yesterday I noticed a old car pull into my driveway, and two seniors got out of the car, and started wandering around the yard. I was in my room, and I opened the window, asking if I could help them. Turns out the lady is the original owner/builders daughter and she noticed the for sale sign. She said her brother from away was interested in the house. I told her the listing price and to contact the real estate agent. I found out that the house was started in 1961, completed in 64, when the family moved in. ( So my house is really 50 years old, just like my parents thought!) I thin they wanted to come in ofr a look, but I was not comfortable with that idea.

I noticed that I'm taking more pride in my home now that it's for sale! I've been spending time ( when it's not raining) outside getting everything looking good. Why couldn't I haven't take this much pride before? It always looks ok, and sometimes the weeds get the best of me, but now I'm keeping on top of it.

I went to see "Bridesmaids" last night with my 2 oldest friends. We laughed our faces off. Go see it if you can! Tuesdays are cheap night, 5.99, so we've decided that we'll do movies once a month.

I needed to make an emergency run to CT today, as the dog broke his outdoor leash today. I use clothes line, and I paid 15.99 for 150 feet. I also bought clothes pins and the local paper. I used 9.00 in CT money and paid 14.11 out of pocket. It took me 10 minutes or less to make his new lead.

Now, I'm off to clean the BBQ, and get some asparagus and potatoes ready for supper.

Today I'm going to bake a rhubarb cake and cookies...

Hi Sam,

I want to go see Bridesmaids too! The previews are very funny...

How cool that you met the original owners of your home...good idea not letting them in, you never know.

Hope all is well, I need to start catching up on what's been going on!

Like you I would have been a little wary of letting them come in, still now you know some of the History of your home, and just maybe they might buy it, fingers crossed.

I wouldn't have let them in. If they are really interested, they can contact a realtor. I've heard about people committing crimes by doing that. I'm sure that they had the best intentions but still.

I heard that Bridesmaids was funny so glad to get that confirmed - will add it to my list of must-sees!
I wouldn't let anyone in to see my place either - MUST go through the realtor not to mention your own personal safety. I've been living in the city far too long!!
