Leaving the dog behind...

I had to leave the dog at my mothers tonight because of the house. The floor is done in the living room and down the hall, leaving the three bedrooms and kitchen -dining area left. I'll have to be very careful bringing the dog in, as the floor will scratch easily and I just may end up leaving him with my parents until the house sells to avoid any pit falls.

Which means the house is very quiet, too quiet in fact! I miss having my boy here, looking to have his ears scratch and his belly rubbed. fingers crossed, the house sells quick and I find out about the transfer ( I suspect that I officially may not know anything until late June). I'm guessing that I'll buy a new home in late August/early September. Even with the penalty for being discharged early, I'll be ahead about 4,000 if I hold off buying for 4 months. If I stay at my parents during the summer and while they are away, I'll pay the house bills for them, saying them money and paying roughly under 500/month. I will have to place somethings in storage for a bit too!

Oh and anyone have any suggestions for covering the floors so I can bring the dog home? I was thinking of sheets, blankets, and even booties for his feet? Any other ideas?

It might pay to have his nails clipped.

hope the house sells quickly, you must be missing his company.....

Yes, I was going to say get his nails clipped too - rounded and buffed:) You'll be getting your house on the market just at the right time of year and with all the fixups it will hopefully sell quickly!

I agree with Maureen but even if you get his nails clipped, they might still scratch your new floor. Are you sure that you want to sell your house before you have your new position lined up?

Have a great weekend!

I like the idea of booties. How large is your dog?

Our golden has really scratched up our hardwoods. I wouldn't know how to control that once we get them refinished again.
