no longer an ostrich...

I've been thinking long and hard about being an ostrich ,hiding from my debts and other things, floundering in feelings of inadequacy, inaction and self-doubt, plus thinking about doing so many things, but never actually doing anything.

I decided to change the name of the blog to "it's me, Sam". Why this name? I feel like I'm taking ownership of who I really am, and I'm looking for a balance between the wild child I was in my late teens, early twenties ( if there was a party i was there front and center) and the stuck in the rut mom in my thirties ( doing very little for myself).

The first thing I'm doing to make a small change is join an exercise class. I'll be going to a class where I don't know a soul ( my knees are shaking) and I don't have a clue how to do anything. I did want to take a yoga class, but can't find one yet, so I'll join this class instead.

February's baby step is to prepare for being a non-smoker. I'll use the help of a smoking aid, plus using the internet to go for help.

March, I've decided that I'll learn to bake bread... or knit ( i've tried before, but I'll try again)

Like the new name change.
Joining a new fitness class where you don't know anyone won't be that bad after a few classes. It's a great way to meet and make new friends.
Quitting smoking may be your hardest
challenge but I'm sure you will be just fine.

Good luck Sam!

it's a good change. although I must admit... I'm used to seeing/referring you as an ostrich named Sam. this will take time to get used to.good look with the exercise class.

Good for you! that's awesome. you will feel great once you get in the groove of the exercise class. For me it's the getting there that I find difficult. Once you're there, and most of all once you're done, you'll feel amazing.

Enjoy your class and new found identity and the truthfulness with yourself you'll be exploring.

I think this is a fabulous change! I'm sure you were getting tired of the sand.
