My world has been a whrlwind the past few days...
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. Sunday night when I got home from my PT job, DD had left a message on the phone... "Mom, something is wrong, not sure what what but I really hurt.".. Called her phone, no answer, texted her, no message, check Facebook, leave another message... Realizing that there was nothing more I could do, I go to bed.
Six am monday morning I hear my cellphone getting a text message( My cell phone stays in the kitchen, so I must have been listening it for it in my sleep.). It's DD, so I call her back. She told me that she had been at the hospital on Sunday, with pain her in side, vomiting, etc. They couldn't find anything, but were concerned, so they told her to come back in the morning to run more test. I knew by the sounds of her voice and mothers intuition that some thing was wrong. I was packed, made arrangements for the dog and was on the road by 8:00. I was at the QEII hospital by 1:30 ( after stopping 5 times to pee on the way down)...
At around 2:00 a Dr came in, and said they were going to do an ultrasound to see if they could see if it was her appendix. By 2:30 it was confirmed, her appendix was inflamed ( 90% of the time they cannot see the appendix , but they did this time). It was coming out that day. DD has a medical condition where she cannot take everyday general anesthesia, so we met with the surgeons, the anesthesiologists and they reassured us that they knew what they were doing and would take good care of my girl. At 6:30 they wheeled her to the OR and was safely in her room by 10:00. A couple of her friends stayed with me, and the hospital staff let me stay the night in her room, sleeping in a chair. After more blood work, and seeing more Drs, she was allowed to come home with me. We arrived home at 5:00 last night. after calling and texting people to let them know we were home. We watched some tv, I started laundry ( as DD had no clean clothes, so I brought everything home to get washed), and something to eat. We were both in bed by 9:00, and I was so tired, I didn't even hear the phone ring ( it was DD's father calling from the west coast). I work up at 5 this morning, stayed up for 20 minutes and went back to bed, getting back up at 8:00...
And that folks was the past 48 hours. I won't be meeting my goals for the month, but I have a daughter who's healing and that's what's more important.

Finances take a backseat to your health(and your kid's health and well being). ;-)
What a scary time for you and DD.
So glad the surgery went well and that she is now home with her Mom to look after her while she heels.
Take DD and hopefully you will be up and around to celebrate Canada Day!!
