Hurray, Hurray, it's the first of May
Yes, it's May first, and the weather is slowly improving... No rain today and the sun is supposed to show it's face tomorrow. The added bonus, I'm off the whole weekend!
It's Friday, and I'm very excited to say that I've switched my house insurance starting mid-month. When I received my yearly rate from my old company, it had jumped to 96 and change each month. Plus, the policy rate was only until the end of December. In total it was going to cost 1112 to insure my house for a year. Yikes. I've never had a claim in 11 years, and the price just kept jumping. The new company, I'll spend 814.73 for the year, that's a savings of 297 a year... Money that can go towards paying down debt.
I can say that I haven't eaten take out or in a restaurant since my vacation. I did buy a coffee and bagel last Friday. I hit my target for the month at my PT job, I have the 500 saved and given to my mother for my cottage rental in July, and I'm currently saving towards the gas and groceries part ( I want to have 400 for that).
I did my taxes and I need to make arrangements to pay the tax man... I'm looking at paying 100/semi monthly for 8 months.. That seems reasonable to me...
Now, if I can just turn the heat off, life would be even better...
